Bulk carriers are essential to the global transport of raw materials—such as grains, coal, and ores—driving the engine of world trade. This exhibition highlights the development of these ships from the 1950s to the present day, showcasing their technical evolution and their growing importance in international commerce.
To bring the story of bulk carriers to life, we embraced a bold, visually immersive design approach—translating complex data and technical narratives into engaging, accessible visual storytelling. At the heart of the exhibition are our signature “pillars of graphics”: tall, layered structures that rise through the space, symbolizing the scale, strength, and verticality of maritime infrastructure. Constructed using 10mm Kapa mount and assembled with precision, these pillars invite visitors to navigate the exhibition as if moving through the structural spine of a ship—experiencing the depth, magnitude, and global impact of bulk shipping from within.
Inspired by the bold, utilitarian architecture of bulk carriers, we created a custom typeface that serves as the visual signature of the exhibition. Its sharp angles, heavy structure, and minimalist geometry reflect the raw industrial beauty of these ships—echoing their hulls, cranes, and cargo holds. Used across all titles and display texts, the font reinforces the exhibition’s identity and connects every visual element back to the core narrative of maritime strength, function, and form.
